Litebox Inc. (Litebox) is a boutique building envelope and structural glass engineering firm who is passionate towards reshaping the built environment with healthy, resilient, durable, low energy, low impact, high performance buildings. Our services include building envelope design, building envelope commissioning, structural glass engineering, passive house consulting, deep energy retrofit consulting, thermal modeling, and forensic investigations. Our clients are architects, builders, and owners who share our values of innovation and sustainability and simply want to build better; projects range from single family to commercial to institutional buildings, for both new and existing builds.

The building enclosure permanently forms the most important system of a building, affecting its durability, energy performance, and occupant comfort. We blend cutting-edge engineering expertise with a deep understanding of sustainability principles to create optimized structures that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also endure the test of time, while providing the upmost comfort.

The spelling of lite is derived from a glass lite, a single piece of glass, also referred to as a glass pane. It signifies the literal structural glass and building envelope services we provide, and figuratively stand for our energy efficient and lightweight designs. The box represents the simple shape of a building and the building enclosure we pride ourselves in designing with the “(building) envelope first” approach methodology. We like to think a “Litebox” is a spark of thought that is idea driven, similar to a lightbulb illuminating, to encourage thinking outside of the box.
